Paris001 Driving down the Champs Elysees, in heavy traffic, Juan had to slam on the brakes because a delivery truck in front of us had stopped. Because of the wet cobblestones, we just hydroplaned into the rear of the delivery truck. It was an unfortunate end to an otherwise wonderful trip and no one felt worse than poor Juan. This was the first accident I've ever been in on a Rick Steves tour. And it was definitely not a reflection of the driver. I'm sure we all thought that Juan did a great job of taking care of the bus AND of driving us carefully and safely to each destination. On that day, I sat in front (as opposed to my usual seat in the very back). The others jokingly said that they never crashed when I was sitting in the back. :-)
