vienna198 The woman giving birth is suppose to represent a new generation of soldiers--already dead right out of the womb. As I was photographing, I heard an American woman tourist commenting, "That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen". When I explained its purpose and some of its symbolism she may have gotten a better understanding and appreciation of it.
